Gary: I just wanted to let you know that you and Doug put on a tremendous short course. It was very well planned, had excellent speakers, very informative. The portion on Texas Boundaries by Nedra and the panel discussion on Saturday afternoon were tremendous. All of the portions were also tremendous and not just those two but were my favorites. I just wanted you to know that here in Louisiana we don’t have that kind of seminars and maybe we should to better inform everyone as this short course sure gave me a better understanding so I can perform surveys in Texas with a lot more confidence.  Great  Job.

Doug,
 Just wanted to say how much I appreciate you and Gary making The Short Course available to us students free of charge. It was a great opportunity to have access to a wealth of information and knowledge that would ordinarily be economically unfeasible to obtain. I really enjoyed the chance to rub shoulders with some of the “granddaddies” (Gary’s word not yours) of surveying. Once again, thanks for putting together a great seminar. Hope it becomes an annual experience.

Thanks for all the effort you and Gary put in to The Short Course.  I regret I was unable to attend Saturday’s sessions due to LSLS preparation.  The venue was great and the overall concept and execution were very nice.  I don’t want to be overly critical, however, but I think it appropriate to mention that the Friday afternoon sessions appeared to me to be weak in presentation, content, and visuals.  I have great respect for Mr. Gilley, but he didn’t appear to be well prepared, and we definitively could have used some handouts including a map or two and some key points in outline form.  As for Mr. Osborne, I think we all greatly appreciated his insight and war stories, but, again, some handouts or perhaps a power point presentation might have been helpful.  I hope you take these comments as constructive, because I really like the overall concept and hope to attend future Short Course offerings.
